HOW TO BECOME A CHRISTIAN

Here is the good news of how to have eternal life in Jesus.  The Bible says in Romans 3:23 - "All have sinned and have fallen short of the glory of God."  That means that every human being has done something against God's Law and God's will.

The Bible says in Romans 6:23 - "The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus."  This means that all who sin will die, not just physical death, but eternal death as well, otherwise known as hell.  The good news is that we can have eternal life in heaven with God as a free gift.  This free gift of God is available to every person, regardless of race, culture, gender, or age.

The Bible says in Romans 10:9 - "That if you confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.  10 For a person believes with their heart and so is justified, and confesses with the lips and so they are saved.  11  The scripture says, 'No one who believes in him will be put to shame.'"  This tells us that if we believe in our hearts that God raised Jesus from the dead, that would also imply that we believe Jesus died.  Specifically, we believe that Jesus died on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins.  We also confess Jesus is Lord.  This means that we make Jesus the boss of our lives.

If you would like to become a Christian right now, you can pray this prayer.

Lord God, I confess I am a sinner, and I have done things against your Law.  I apologize for my sins and ask you to forgive me of my sins.  I believe Jesus died on the cross for my sins and I ask you Jesus to please take my sins away.  Be Lord of my life and help me to live for you.  Thank you Jesus.  AMEN.

If you have truly trusted in Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you are now a Christian.  Welcome to God's family.  You can grow in your relationship with Jesus by doing the following things.  1)  Read your Bible.  Start with the New Testament and read a chapter a day.  When you finish, start over again.  2)  Establish a time of prayer every day.  Prayer is talking with God.  Talk to God as you would a friend who is also the King of kings.  3)  Find a church that is faithful to the Bible and be faithful to the church.  Attend services and give your time to the ministries of the church.  4)  Tell others what Jesus has done for you.  5)  Become a faithful giver of the resources that God has given you.
